Beck based his work on groundbreaking research conducted at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1990. Researchers there discovered that microcurrents between 50 and 100 microamperes could deactivate viruses to the extent that they were no longer able to penetrate human host cells. Although this sensational discovery was even patented in 1991 (US Patent 5,188,738), it mysteriously vanished completely from public medical discourse shortly thereafter.
